Ryze provides several ways that members can achieve this:
NETWORK PRESENCE Aside from maintaining a consistent network presence, it is important that you give yourself every opportunity to be noticed, in order for the branding process to take place. Posting meaningful articles to networks of your choice (by this, I DON'T mean posting advertisements!), will build credibility and enable members to get to know you.
GUEST BOOKS We've already discussed the aspect of signing Guest Books ~ some find this tedious, while other find it necessary and fun. To be honest, I don't sign GB's as much now as I have in the past.... lack of time is more at fault here, than lack of will to do so.
So which GB's do you sign and how do you find them?
I have found that the easiest way to source GB's, with the intention of building a relationship, is to go to the profile page of a member whose network post you have enjoyed - then sign the GB.
The other way, is to look at who connects you to a member (this would be at the top of that members profile page) - click on the names you don't already know and assess whether this member would be a good contact for you.
NETWORK WITH ME Believe me, it doesn't work!
This option, found at the top of a members profile page sends a message to the member saying that they want to network with you.... but why and what they have in common with you is not made clear.
PRIVATE MESSAGE Members are allowed a certain number of private messages to people they are not already connected with, per month. Some members prefer to use the PM to intitiate contact over the Network With Me feature, but be warned: you will get icy silence if your PM even remotely smacks of a sales pitch - rather develop the relationship first!
WHO'S VISITED YOUR PAGE On the left hand side of the screen in the sidebar, is the link to see who has visited your Ryze profile page in the last week - even if they didn't sign your GB. These are people who have found you!
NEW MEMBERS On the Ryze Home Page, right at the bottom, you will find the newest Ryze members. While it's nice to be able to offer a warm welcome to new members, I have found that this method often results in partial information, no photographs and most often, the member has not yet discovered how to open their GB. (There is also a link to Newest Members on the sidebar).
NEWEST PHOTOS This is a fairly new addition to the sidebar ~ when new members add their photos or when existing members change their photos, they will appear in this random list.
This is a great way for veteran members to be brought to the fore again.
WHO'S ONLINE There's no time like the present and sending a quick introductory PM to someone who is on-line ("Hi, I noticed that you are on-line and thought I'd make your acquaintance.....") is a method preferred by some.
So members, these are just some ideas of how to build realtionships using some of Ryze's MANY contact-building tools! Why not spend a few minutes reaching out to others, but remember..... BUILD THE RELATIONSHIP, FIRST!

Since I am building a particular niche, I typically do a search with the keywords for the niche that I am building and then start networking from there.

I posted this same message on two other networks and received resounding responses within minutes - here there has been no response other than yours.
On one of the other networks, a member (a veteran Ryze member) quickly snapped up the article for her International Blog which means that there MUST have been value in the post.
I sure hope that the members of this network see value in our posts at this network!
Are you inviting new members to this network?

Anyway...because I haven't upgraded (which was my goal for last week)...there are some things on your list I can't see(whose online, new pics, etc)....I'd rather have people PM right now, then the network with me button...that just doesn't work for me at all! :P
So, there's 2 cents...Private Reply to Dana Neal | |
