Okay you guys, here is a networking activity for you. I want you to go to a member of this network's ryze page that you haven't visited before and visit it. Come back to this thread and post something interesting about that person. There may be a prize involved...

I went to Michelangelo's ryze page. He has a wonderful family of four. He has a wife that is supporting in all his businesses. He has 3 successful businesses outside his online businesses that are also prospering. Michelangelo has a strong faith that shows in his words and in his work. He has a mind to give back to other's as he increases in prosperity. God bless Michlanglo!

That's a great idea DeAnna

So I visited Kimberly Easter because she asked a question on another network and I remembered her name.

Kimberly is a Gold Member, but she doesn't run a network. She's been a member since April 2005, but she's only got 117 hits on her homepage. The homepage itself is trying to sell some womans product. As such it's a turn off for me.

Kimberly is in 20 networks, mostly with a business, work at home mum's, or publicity focus.

There are 13 posts in Kimberley's Guestbook. Her friends list is hidden or doesn't exist.

Kimberly has gone to a lot of trouble to design an attractive looking homepage. But I had to force myself to read it. Why was that? Because it looks like an advertisement. When you read the text, Kimberly is trying to sell, but she actually comes across as a sincere, intelligent and interesting person. She speaks with a human voice.

Something is not working here. Kimberly is potentially a top Ryze person. She should be getting at least one page visit a day. In 19 months she should have about 500 page visits, but there are only 117. Kimberly will know what's causing this, now that I point it out.

Kimberly posted to another network. I remembered the name. I chose to visit her page. That shows that posting to various networks is a useful thing to do. Good posts attract visitors. Leaving messages in guestbooks, generates visitors too. Everyone here should be able to get at least one homepage hit every day. If that's not happening, just visit some pages yourself, get yourself about, make an effort.

I've just finished a review of 50 pages by Ryze members in New Zealand. ONLY THREE of those people are being successful as Ryze members. I ranked all 50. If Kimberly was in this group she would have been 8th. As a percentage Kimberly is in the top 15% of all Ryze members. And as I said, she's actually not doing anything special.

It's easy to succeed here. Of the people in my survey, 33 have joined fewer than 5 networks. 29 had fewer than 5 friends. You've only got to spend an hour here once a month to do better than that. Basics. Read the back posts in this network.

John

Okay that was a good start, but can we please keep this a positive activity? No one is going to want to participate if they are going to get a tongue lashing.

Kimberly Easter has a very attractive page and she is in the top 15% of all Ryze members. That's positive and true, but it doesn't help Kimberly and it doesn't help anyone else.

So let's try Kira Goettling.

I know Kira because she is a network leader.

On her homepage in 5 months, she had 195 homepage hits, so she's doing something right. If you notice her guestbook there are about 20 entries, roughly one for every 10 page visits. That's good. The guestbook is also interesting for the high quality of the comments.

Kira is a member of 19 networks. At least half of those networks I know are active and the discussion is valuable.

Kira is interested in dogs, photography and ethics. She lives in the USA but speaks both German and English. (From the name and the knowledge of German, I guess that Kira, or at least her family is German.)

I know her because of her interest in ethics. Kira runs a network called "Ethical Discourse"
http://ethicsdiscourse-network.ryze.com/

There are only FIVE members there. If you want to talk about ethical principles, there's an opportunity for you.

Kira is looking for opportunities to apply the principles of ethics in a professional way in a business context. Perhaps you can help her to do that?

John

Here's an example of what I'd like to see in this activity:

I chose Melodieann Whiteley.
What's interesting about her is that she is a former navy crytologic technician. That sounds like a really cool job. She's also a meeting planner. I like the fact that she's managed to find a happy medium on her profile between her business life and her personal life.
Great job!

I decided to bump this thread back up to the front since we have so many new members. The idea is to visit a ryze member that you don't already know and post something interesting about that ryze member to this thread. The idea is for us to get to know each other better and to help you with your networking.

This one is a good one. Actually helps you get to know others, find out about them (hopefully) and not just their business. Also allows you to see some other networks that are out there per member...have fun Ryzing.

DeAnna,

Thanks for reminding everyone to participate in this activity. Networking has one great rule: Before someone will or can do business with you, they have to know, like and trust you.

What better way to get to know someone than by visitng their Ryze page, posting to their guestbook and asking questions. Don't forget to invite them to visit your page as well!

Finally, ask that really important question: "What can I do for you?"

Having said that,
What can I do for you today?

Yours in networking,
