John Stephen Veitch | | Hello Networker's First Stop Members
One of the features of RYZE is that many members have written essays, help notes of blogs about how to use RYZE.
Most of the people who join never get much past half doing a Ryze homepage. New members don't have friends, nor are they network members, and unless they join networks (I recommend MANY networks) they remain isolated, not really members at all.
There is a blog called "Step by Step" that was origially written for RYZE Newbies, although recent entries have a wider scope. If you are new to Ryze some of the early entries might be the most useful. http://newbiesstepbystep.blogspot.com/
Go back to the 2004 Archive, and explore what's there.

Gery DiMarco | | I look slike a lot of goo info there. Most seems pointed towards those that use blogs on their own website, as I hope to do one of these days. Was there any particular info you thought particularly helpful?
I've run a couple of blogs. One chronicled my weight loss journey at http://appetizerdiet.blogstream.com
The other which I've tried to get back to keeping a little more regularly is simply http://gerydimarco.blogstream.com

In much the same way folks on Ryze are starting to share their Twitter website page links, I think they should also share their blog links. Indeed, let's do the Twitter following thing with our blogs. What's more, if you choose to follow my blog, you get the added benefit of being able to use my Twitter bird to draw attention to your own Twitter site or blog - just as I have done.
What follows are the links to both my blog and Twitter page. I encourage the members of this network to share their blog and Twitter link on this thread.

Gery DiMarco | | Great offer Lamar. I always enjoy your posts around Ryze and will keep an eye on your Tweets as well. My blogs remain the same as I posted above but should be getting more advanced an relocated this spring. Blogstream doesn't quite allow me as many liberties as hosting my own or even some other services.
I've already hit your follow button. Are there any applications you are using that you've found useful?
Look forward to seeing more Ryzers there.

Lamar Morgan 954-603-7901 | | Gary,
Regarding Twitter (a micro-blog) as compared to regular blogs there are a ton of third-party applications. Those third-party applications seem to be growing all the time.
When I began using Twitter, I first went to Twirl. However, now I use TweetDeck to keep track of what my Twitter audience is doing and the Twitter world in general. I no longer have to go to my Twitter page. I simply view the TweetDeck on my desktop.
Overall, what amazes me about Twitter is that so much of what I need done can be freely automated. I can use Mr. Tweet as my personal networking assistant to tell me who is following me that I need to follow back. Mr. Tweet can also tell me, based on my own data, who I need to be following that is NOT following me. Then, there is Socialtoo. This app will automatically follow those folks who are following me and remove me from folks who have stopped following me. It also tells me who the new folks are who are following me, the folks who have stopped following me and the last message I sent them.
Since I have begun automating my Tweeting process, I have seen my number of followers sky-rocket. I highly recommend that Ryzers automate their Tweeting as much as possible. The automation process does not make your Tweeting any less personal. It simply empowers you to reach out and grow your audience more effectively and efficiently.

Warren Contreras | | The problem with TweetDeck is it puts a line under each Tweet with a link to TweetDeck, NOT YOU and I think that sucks.
Now I use Tweet Brand and it allows me to put my own tag line with a link to my own website of choice (my blog) as well as add that line to any Retweets I do.
I wrote a blog post about it at http://warrencontreras.com/?p=51Private Reply to Warren Contreras |

Lamar Morgan 954-603-7901 | | Blogging can do more than some folks realize. Keep in mind that it is not just about the person who owns the blog and posts the articles. It is about the folks who read them and take the time to provide feedback. Blogs can be a great promotional tool for the party that PROVIDES FEEDBACK. Want proof? Carline Lupin, who lives in Coconut Creek, FL posted to a blog by a TV network in Spokane, WA about here little community network called Toolzdo. Well, the TV network in Spokane, WA decided to do a TV news report about Toolzdo and did not even bother to interview Carline about what they did. Carline learned about it after-the-fact - thanks to a Google Alert she had set up for Toolzdo. Check this out. Truly amazing!
Now, does that get your creative juices flowing? It is not enough to simply HAVE a blog. You need to start posting comments to the blogs of other folks. As I have often stated, "Good things happen to those who help MAKE good things happen." Carline took the time to post to a blog in Spokane, WA - even though she lives on the opposite side of the United States. And, look what happened.
Ryze's own Teddy Towncrier, who resides in Canada interviews Linda Fergusson, who lives in California. The next thing you know, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger sends a "letter of commendation" for a little shopping center festival. Want proof? See Family Fun. Coincidence? You never know what is possible until you to decide to do three things - CARE, CONNECT and come up with A GOOD DESIGN to get whatever it is you need accomplished.
The message in today's challenging economic climate should be DON'T GO IT ALONE. Think in terms of MUTUAL COLLABORATION. For more on this idea, visit Sparklers.
