Some folks think using a FREE service is demeans you in terms of your professional appearance. Well, that all depends upon how you use the free tools. If you are using FREE tools and receiving a significant benefit, I certainly would not cease to use them because someone thought otherwise. However, if you are using a free service and not receiving any benefit whatsoever despite using the service as instructed, the is no justification for using something that does not help meet your needs.
For example, Squidoo.com is a wonderful FREE service for creating online lenses. You can actually get paid for creating lenses on that site. But, the problem is, you have to learn how to do it properly. In my opinion, far too many people, visit the site, create a lens and stop learning. They end up writing the service off because it did not perform as expected.

You will see a lot of pages and a lot of links on those pages. Coindence? Hardly. All those pages refer to the same person...someone who knows how to create a Squidoo lens.
