I want to encourage people to ASK - ASK, SEEK and Knock. In other words ask for help. I did that very thing over on Squidoo.com. Here I had created an online lens. It was not all that great. I wanted to make it better, but really did not know how. So, I actually began to ask folks who had great lenses to help me. Now, to be perfectly honest, not everyone wanted to help me create something better than what I had. But, I did not need to get everyone I asked to help. I just really needed a few. And, guess what? In the process of asking for help, I not only got great advice, but support. Folks who helped me make my lens better actually referred traffic to my lens. Today, I checked my lens and it is suddenly ranked in the Top 20 in the Food category. Imagine that. A little Mom and Pop Thai restaurant ranking higher than professional restaurants with high-profile chefs. This is amazing to me. But, you know what made this happen? Caring people.

This is not rocket science, folks. A little caring can go a long way. You simply have to get the ball rolling. So, don't hesitate to do the ASK thing.

If you would like to take a look at the restaurant in question, here is the link - Ting's Thai Kitchen.

Wonderful page. I logged in so I could give you 5 stars. A map, videos, a menu. Your "ask for help" idea will give many networkers a boost.
Thanks for another great post.

Sylvia,

Here's another idea. This one is not about designing a blog or web page with all sorts of modules, like Squidoo. This is about a web service that facilitates cost-effective communication. The service is called Jott.com. Basically, what Jott does is it gives you the ability to use your phone to send both voicemail and email - to yourself, another person or a group of people - all via a single toll-free call. That is pretty amazing - especially when you consider the service is free.

Now, you may wonder how Jott manages to do that. There are no ads on the website. How can Jott afford to do this? Someone is being paid to physically transcribe all those messages. This is not a voice-recognition software deal. The answer? Jott is building list databases thanks to your willingness to provide your contact information. For that reason, some folks may prefer not to use the Jott service. But, if time is money and you spend a good deal of your day in need of a mobile device like a cell phone or laptop, Jott can come in extremely handy.

Hello all, hope all is well.
What worked for me in the Social Networks Ive joined?
Well its hard to keep up with all the Social Network sites out there. The one that Ive gotten the most visitors to me site and the most sales from has been Mylot.
Its a fast paced Network site and the way its worked best for me is answering questions to problems that are in my marketing niche.
Most social sites are geared to younger users communications but there are alot of users there who ask for help with their computer security, so it is a good site for me to visit at least once a day.
You have to stay focused on what you want to accomplish at a Social site. Its easy to get distracted and start participating in all the discussions that interest you.

Sylvia: It's May again, so this thread is back in style. Just showing up on a social networking is half of it. Poeple find me on Linkedin when they are looking for a CPA in the NY metro area. And six hours after joining meettheelite.net I got an inquiry which led to two additional referrals from the original satisfied business owner.

Social networking does work. In addition to using Ryze, I also use other online resources - like Twitter and Squidoo. In fact, I set up a Squidoo lens for the specific purpose of promoting a shopping center festival earlier this month. Now, I also used the telephone in the promotion. One of the folks I called on the phone was Marty Keller, Small Business Advocate for the State of California. Well, look at what Marty did. He read my Squidoo lens, posted to it in the Guest Book at the bottom of the page and then got Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to write a letter to the entire shopping center. Want proof?
